X Video Transcript.
Paste a link to a video on X or Twitter. Get everything that’s said, with timestamps, to read, copy, subtitle, or hand to an agent.
Where the words come from
X writes captions for many videos. When it has, you get X’s own captions straight away. When it hasn’t, one click transcribes the audio instead. Either way it’s saved, so the next person gets it instantly.
What you can take away
Copy the text for notes or a model, copy with timestamps to quote a moment, download .srt or .vtt subtitles, or copy an agent link it can fetch on its own.
What’s kept
Only the text of the transcript. The video and its audio are never stored. Videos up to 15 minutes can be transcribed; captions from X work at any length.

Questions
Is it free?
Yes. There’s no account, no signup and no watermark. Videos up to 15 minutes long can be transcribed, and X’s own captions work at any length.
Which links work?
Any link to a public post with a video: x.com, twitter.com and mobile.twitter.com links, and fxtwitter or vxtwitter links. The post ID on its own works too.
Does X have transcripts for videos?
X writes automatic captions for many videos, and creators can upload their own, but X only shows them as subtitles in the player. x-toolkit reads those captions and turns them into text you can copy. When a video has none, it transcribes the audio instead.
Can I download the subtitles as SRT or VTT?
Yes. Every transcript downloads as .srt or .vtt subtitles with the original timing, or as a plain .txt file.
Which languages does it support?
Transcription detects the spoken language and writes the transcript in that language. It doesn’t translate. Captions from X come in whatever language X made them.
How accurate is it?
Both X’s captions and the transcription are automatic, so names and jargon can come out wrong. Every paragraph has a timestamp, and clicking it plays the video from that moment so you can check.
Do you keep the video?
No. Only the transcript text is saved, so the next person who asks for the same video gets it instantly. The video and its audio are never stored.
Does it work for protected accounts or deleted posts?
No. It can only read public posts. Videos from protected accounts and deleted posts can’t be reached.
Can an AI agent use it?
Yes. Copy agent link gives a URL that returns the transcript as Markdown, so ChatGPT, Claude or any agent that can fetch a page can read it without a browser.
